Computers For Kids is a non-profit organization, a Canadian registered charity, number: 879638526RM0001, and is the brain child of Doug Baird of Penetanguishene, Ontario. Computers have become a mainstay in our society today and those left without will stand little chance at keeping up to those who have. This is where we step in, by offering a free computer. All we ask of our kids is that they use this tool to the best of their ability so they can have a chance to break the cycle of poverty. Since our beginning in January 2000 Computers For Kids has given away over 4000 computers to needy families. Most have been in our geographic area purely due to logistics and the awareness of our existence. As we grow and become better known we can reach as far as our resources will allow. |

A few personal words from Doug: "It has been my greatest pleasure and honor to lead such a wonderful group of people who believe in Computers For Kids the way I do. The volunteers give of themselves without question and deliver spectacular results when they are called upon to carry out duties for the charity. Without their dedication and desire to help we would never have been able to reach the numbers of children that we have. I look forward to our future and all of the new and wonderful things that will come from what we do as a group.
